: Thanks a bunch for sharing the link and your impressions of Grey Owl!! My husband and I enjoyed the movie just as much!! I really hope that the movie will find a distributor in the U.S. so everybody can  view it!! We have had the pleasure to see it here in Canada since September.

: : I attended the opening of the Film Festival last evening.  It was so dynamic.  The house was packed.  The movie Grey Owl was very well received.  At the end of the film everyone clapped.

: : Collin and I personally loved the film!  It will be released in Canada next week.  So far, it does not have a U.S. distributor.  This is such a shame, because it is filmed on such a "GRAND" scale.  It was exquisitely beautiful and has such a powerful message!

: :      Films don't get much more high-profile than Grey Owl.  The bio-pic of Archibald Belaney, the Englisman who come to Canada and transformed himself into a native Indian environmentalist, stars Pierce Brosnan, one of the planet's top movie stars.  The director, Lord Richard Attenborough, has a lengthy cirriculum vitae that includes multi-oscar winners.

: : The film had a $45- million budget for the Canadian-U.K. co-production, making it one of the priciest Canadian features ever made, and you have one of the more highly anticipated films ever shot in this country.

: : So why isn't it coming out south of the Canadian border?  Grey Owl, which was shot mostly near Chelsea, Que., in the spring of last year, has yet to be sold to a U.S. film distributor and there are currently no plans to launch the ambitious project in the most important film market in the world.

: : Grey Owl will open across Canada Friday, via upstart Montreal distributor Remstar, and it is opening in a couple of european countries later this fall.  But a U.S. deal has eluded the producers.  It hasn't been due to lack of effort on the part of the filmakers.  Grey Owl screened for film-industry buyers at the Cannes market that runs parallel to the Cannes Film Festival last May, but there were no bites from Hollywood.

: : In interviews this week, both Attenborough and Brosnan admitted they were disappointed by the U.S. industry's cold reaction to this big-budget film.  But running into resistance from the studios is nothing new for Attenborough, 76,.  He spent many years trying to raise the cash to make Ghandi.

: : Attenborough is confident there will eventually be a U.S. distribution deal for Grey Owl, but he knows only too well that an expensive movie about a folk hero from the '30's who was known only in Canada and the U.K. is not going to mean much to young film executives in Los Angeles. 

: : Well, that about sums it up!  I wish everyone here could experience this magnificent film!
