I imagine contrasts like the portrayal as noble or even idyllic vs. the brutally honest portrayal of today's reality.  But I'm just guessing.   Can you tell us more?

: I'll have to wait until this weekend.  I'm afraid I have exhausted my meagre vocabulary.  Let me restock and see if I can't string my thoughts together with a little more clarity.  I will say that I wasn't so much thinking about how each author portrays the Indian, as about being immediately blasted into the 20th century.
