For those who have never heard it, it begins in drastically different fashion than you are used to, before blossoming into the fiddle-style of LOTM.

: : So sorry to take so long to respond!! The 'guts' of my computer have been out so often the last week or so as Keith has tested out bits of his own, it hasn't been working long enough to write a quick 'hi' lately!! Apologies!

: : Glad to hear you managed to get in touch with Dougie. I *thought* that 'souvenir' of LOTM that hangs in his bar indicated he is proud of his part in the film and would be happy to endorse the use of his music on the Mohicanland pages! 

: : And I have to admit *head downcast here*, I have not heard of the CD 'Scottish Moors' or 'Celtic Odyssey' - nor Loreena McKennit!! There was a time when I was absolutely *up* with the Celtic music scene. My husband played guitar and bodhran in a folk band for years and my son, who plays ten folk instruments (guitar, mandolin, banjo, bodhran, penny whistles, concertina, piano, keyboards, Scottish Small Pipes (which are almost identical to Davey Spillane's (of Riverdance) Uillean pipes and something else which I can't remember!) played as part of a folk duo for a few years and Celtic music was the only thing ever played in this house!!  However, my husband went to live and work in the Middle East (Sultanate of Oman for 9 years and now in Saudi Arabia) and Keith has other things in his life at the moment and hasn't picked up an instrument in months, and I've been involved in other things the last six years and celtic music just seemed to disappear out of my life! Also, it seemed to get a bit 'stale' for a good while. It needed to change.  However, with Michael Flatley and 'Riverdance', the music seemed to become alive and exciting again and I find I AM getting into it again.  But - there just so MUCH celtic music coming out just now, it is really hard to keep track!!  However - now you have given me a nudge in the direction of some exciting new sounds, I will DEFINITELY have a look out!!  

: : Well, Santa always needs a little nudge too!! So - perhaps these CD's would make excellent stocking fillers!! (Family take note!) :0)

: Glad you wandered back. You really should check out these CDs/artists. I feel sure you'd really enjoy them. (Daughter & Son, are YOU listening?) I can appreciate what you're saying, both about saturation & the need for new life in Celtic sounds ...  I am happy there are so many great artists out there now.
