: : That's SO neat - "Mr. Got no Family" - Norm, I didn't notice him at first either, but later did - and now I always say
: : "Aw-w-w-w" when he gets killed. OUCH!

: ....and I noticed another thing... In the scene where they are hiding in the Indian Burial Grounds, Cora, who I'm sure went to the finest Finishing Schools in England, takes the powderhorn from Hawkeye and "knows" how to load a weapon which she uses later to shoot a Huron in the meadow-massacre. I dont mean to nit-pic the movie, but I love noticing these things....

Hi Norm and all --
I too only recently noticed Mr. Got-no-family (same as me) dying in the massacre. That now bothers me a lot -- like they said above, the nice face, willing to stay only to get hacked up like that. By the way, according to the script, this is Colonial #2. He has a fairly distinctive voice and I think it's him in the meadow when the British Lieutenant is recruiting -- the Lieutenant says "Up to Fort William Henry", and someone says "That's 2 nights and a bit." I think that's Colonial #2 again, but the script says it's Colonial #1. I think it's the same voice, so maybe Colonial #1 is the one at the Fort. Maybe Soldier #2 can shed some light on this.
I believe, in the case of Cora and the pistol, that since she had seen the face of war before, and her father having been a military man who had no quams about bringing them along to see the face of war, probably taught her to fire a pistol.
I think I've clearly seen the movie too many times. But I STILL haven't seen the guy releasing the elk from the cage...
Cheers,
Sarah M.
