: : Jo you better get that tipi set up and ready for Y2K. Thats one thing that the kids watch when we do demos at schools. It is not hard to break the tips when setting the tripod. As tight as the rope has to be wrapped and if you spread the base to far out they snap fast. I have a lot of information on the pc if you would like it. Let me know and I'll email it to you asap. Things like: year round living in the tipi, ozans, painting the cover and liner, setting postions, etc. And Dana that wigwam was half my problems. There is no way to build it and be able to travel with it. Jo was that you that said we would use tents to stay in for Gathering 2000? If so are you going to bring your tipi? Sound like a good idea Dana?

: Do we REALLY stay in tents at Gathering?  My husband is going to be surprised.  A tipi sounds like a blast, but we can hardly set up our tent from K-Mart.  I don't think we should go near anything with bending poles or breaking tips.  It sure would be fun to watch you and Jo set up yours, though.

: Sorry to hear the wigwam didn't work out.  It's a common misconception here in Indiana that the Native Indians in this region lived in tipis.  I sure was surprised to see a wigwam for the first time.  It was a good idea anyway.
