Hi Everyone,
Two years ago, at the SF Native American Film Festival they showed the movie "The Song of Hiawatha". I missed the film and have been trying to locate it from time to time over the last year.
Yesterday, I was browsing the video shelf and came across it. It never made it into major release. I can see why. It wasn't the greatest, but it was a good "B" movie. It is worth renting just to see the cast and other visuals.
It stars, Irene Bedard, Sheila Toussey, Adam Beach, Gordon Totoosis, Graham Greene, Mike Phillips (?), and Litefoot. Even though the screenplay was not up to speed, I still enjoyed it. It is a good one to rent, snuggle up to the fireplace with, and watch on a cool fall evening. If anyone else has seen it, let us know what you think.
If for nothing else, it has a great cast. The actors all did well, considering what they had to work with. I was particularly impressed with Litefoot. He has great acting potential.
The Song of Hiawatha was one of my favorite reads back in my youth. Before I could even understand it, I would browse through and look at the pictures. It had a prominent place in my mother's library.
Have a great day everyone,
Ayesha
