I don't want to *get off on a rant, here,* BUT...the reviewer sounds like a pseudo-intellectual snob, who looks down on the whole movie as nothing more than a pyrotechnical-good-hair-nice-music-assaulting-the-ear-drums exercise in style. I think it considerably more than that, even if not necessarily the most literate or artistic film I ever saw. Daniel doesn't act, Madeleine is a Danielle Steel heroine, and Cooper AND the movie are merely PULP? Even the SCENERY looks staged??? Gadzooks! Mr. Howe, I think I'll get "Wes Stud" to emote in his own inimitable fashion, his well-delivered line, "I spit on you!" And, BTW, what movie was Howe watching where there was a "lover's kiss behind a raging waterfall?" I must have missed THAT little bit, too. I remember hugging, cuddling, staring longingly...but surely nothing that would qualify as a "lover's kiss."

Well, we are all entitled to our own opinion, but I think Desson Howe is SOAKING WET on this one. Of course, those are just MY thoughts...*I could be wrong!*
