Dear Bill,

Everyone knows that parrots are especially sensitive to air pollution, and since there has been a foul breeze crawling through Mohicanland today, Polly Anna thought it best if Basil took a little vacation. When the cooling winds of reason begin to prevail again, Basil will be back on his hickory perch, ready to make pithy observations on our normal Mohicanland characters.

Blow, blow cool winds...rid our land of this putrid miasma that hangs like a shroud over our little village, causing our blessed citizens to gag and wretch nauseously! Cleanse the stench of rotten moral character and decaying values out of our cobbled streets! Lift the fetid, yellow cloud of insanity and depravity from our lives, FOREVERMORE, we beseech you!
