: Rich,

: Your post this morning absolutely breaks my heart. I understand exactly what you are saying, though, and in fact, have often wondered when you would reach the breaking point in dealing with the negative side effects of running this site and board.

: My general feeling about the Internet (and most other things in Life) is one of balancing the positives with the negatives. As long as the positives outweigh the negatives in any endeavor, I'm for sticking with it. But when the negatives take over, I don't need it any more. And I'm sure you don't either. So, that's probably the bottom line. If you feel the balance has swung to that side, then you must make your decisions based on that.

: As for whether to dismantle the entire site or simply do away with the board, well, that's another question, entirely, I guess. If you simply do away with the board, it won't stop the email and attacks on other sites, will it? And if you dismantle the entire site...that could only be considered a terrible loss to people all over the globe, I think. Even though my favorite part is the friendships made on the board, there is such a wealth of other information on this site, I can't imagine it being gone. And to lose the Gatherings is a whole 'nuther heartbreaker. I can't even think about that.

: But the decision obviously has to come from you. You will never lose the friends you've made through the site and board, regardless of what you choose to do. But I can tell you, the thought of the Bad Guys winning is almost more than I can bear. And if this site closes down, they have.

: Your Friend, Regardless of What Happens,

Ditto, ditto, ditto MMMM. I hope that all the good people
of Mohicanland -- as opposed to the idiot denizens of
WooWooland -- can find some way to help Rich and Elaine
solve this. I know that where I work we have a number
of internet sites that require a validated password to
access them, so that might be an idea. Any restrictions
that keep the yahoos from the gate are fine with me.

Doctor M, who is p.o.-ed beyond all human endurance by
the pernicious pinheads who permeate the population!!!
