What happened 7 years ago this week? Why the theatric premiere of Last of the Mohicans, of course!
The scene that left the strongest impression on me was not the violence of the ambush or even the massacre but when Duncan was burned alive. The raw brutality of the Hurons and the pitiful agony of the Major really hit me. The look on Nathaniel's face as he sights in on Heyward for the mercy shot - total regret but he knows its the humane thing to do. Nathaniel seems surprised by Heywards grand sacrifice and I think he respects him for this.
Anyone else like to share their impressions from their first screening of Mohicans?
