: : Quilting Bee,
: : Your help is needed. Gather your hive together and send a messenger to Miss Kate. We need all the warm quilts we can get to put around all these folks Uncle Wiscone has dragged out of the river. Line your route to Miss Marcia's, and on the way, tell the Pirate Bees we have need of their honey mead. Fly! Fly, little bees!

: My Dear Quilting Bee,
: Help is, indeed, on its way from this quarter!! I would bee delighted to help warm up the shaking, shivering bodies of the so nearly drowned! My bedding will soon sort them out! After all, 'bedding' is what I do best, dontcha know! I have *no* doubts my bedding will bring life back to those poor frigid bodies!!
: But - remember that 'Summer Sale' I had but, oh - two nights ago and a bit? I am now down to my last couple of covers! It may come down to a case of sharing a cosy moment!! However, I do have the beginnings of my new Winter range, in various stages of completion!
: I have several tiny 'patches' I have just started, which should be just the thing for warming the swarm! I've got quilts half finished that should be just jim dandy for warming up 'critters that b'ark' and I have a few nearly completed 'top of the range' comforters that should provide comfort to the half drowned souls, caught in the nets of Uncle Wiscone and boys!
: May I also just rem'ark - I heard tell of that Jeanne D'arc when I was back in the Mother Country, Indeed, I read of her in the 'Enquirer'!! She's a strange one and *no* mistake!! Hears voices, talks to herself, suffers delusions and feelings of persecution - and plays with fire!! Quite frankly, sir, I think we have here a typical 'basket case'!! Another 'misfit' shipped to the Colonies!! M'ark my words, sir - we shall have to watch that gal!!
: Meantime, if Uncle Wiscone and his boys are finished 'fishin', I'd be obliged if you could send 'em up to tote down all these quilts over to Miss Marcia's Downhome Kitchen. What, 10 minutes? No problemo! Sounds good to me! I'll bee ready!!
: Bee seeing you!
: Miss Katie.
Miss Katie,
We bee grateful for the warm and comforting quilts and particularly for the tiny patches. Each soggy little bee cuddled under a different brightly colored patch and soon was sound asleep. The soft hum of their tiny snores was peaceful and reassuring to this old Indian, who had feared the worst when his favorites were struggling against the elements.
When the Swarm has slept itself out and quite recovered, we would bee proud to have you accept a pot of our special honey made lovingly from the blooms of the beautiful Scotch Thistle which fills our meadow (Heather Honey beeing beeyond our ability, since that lovely flower is not found in the colony).
Quilting Bee is having a wonderful time buzzing from pattern to pattern among your quilts and gathering all sorts new ideas for bedding for the hives. She says she is proud to bee learning from a real Mistress of the Art.
Your friend,
Brother of the Sagamore
