Oscar Soapbox

I'm always surprised at how underrated Madeleine Stowe's performance in LOTM is (only 11% on our poll??). I thought she was a very close second to Wes Studi and worthy of an Oscar nomination. No other actress come close to capturing fear and defiance at the same time (under the falls when Magua captures the sisters is the perfect example). And how 'bout the argument she has with Duncan and Col. Murno - controlled rage and frustration played to perfection. She carries the love scene too, because it's mostly her face that the audience sees (course, this would be an easy scene for any novice actress to shoot, I mean, it was DDL!).
