I've found a site (DVD Express) which has LOTM available as a "pre-order" due to be released around 5 October 99 for US$17.49 (40% discount for pre-order). However, I've also found another site which mentions it is to be released shortly as a DVD with DTS soundtrack, no mention made of just straight DVD however.

Just to quickly explain for those people unsure of DVD. You'll need a DVD player (& amplifer) that can handle DTS soundtracks if it is only released as a DTS DVD. Also, if it is released as a DTS DVD there will be less "extras" available for viewing (Actors interviews, etc) due to DTS taking up more room.
