: Well, there now, folks, I'd say we done a fair fine job o' ee-rectin' a new home for The Old Crone.  And ye can't say we didn't have plenty of help from the boys at Bumppo's, idlers though they may seem in many respects.  Why, Uncle Wiscone saved our bacon fer sure when he came up with those bent saplings fer a frame.  And the wattles fit just right once we pasted 'em on good and tight with some nice thick river clay.  Can't say as we had much of a dining room for Miss Marcia to put "Mah Hog Annie" in, but then I don't understand why she'd want a pig in the house anyways. Seems to me her hog Annie can do jest as well outside in the pigpen, but I never did understand the thinkin' o' some o' these ladies, delicate and lovely though they be.

: That was some feat Colonial Joe accomplished fittin' all those different size logs together.  It's a right tight little privy, if I do say so myself, even if it's a little irr-regalar as to shape.  Fortunate there was that sizeable hole already dug fer it to set over.

: Not so sure we're finished with that fireplace chimney, though.  Seems the clay could set a little harder around those sticks before The Old Crone tries cookin' her supper the first time.  Hopefully it won't smoke too much.  Woulda been better if Simon Girty had been here to lend a hand with that part o' the buildin, since he's an expart constructin' sich things, but he's off with the Cherokees, I hear.  Strange how quiet Miss Marcia's corn crib is without that young renegade to keep things in a turmoil.  But he'll be back, and we'll have him take a look at this here chimney to see that all's right with it.

: Well, Old Crone, are ye ready to move in?  Bet Miss Marcia will be hoppin' to give ye an open house party, and we sure hope ye'll be happy and comfy in yer new wattle hut.
