: Anyone interested in trading Wampum for Silver???
: The French Trader has 'couriered' some of his woven Wampum Bracelets. They are beautiful! Tight weave ...
: And from the New England Colonies;
: We've been trading for true Quahog Wampum! This is THE historic, traditional Algonquian Wampum the Dutch went CRAZY over. Wampum played a huge role in the history of North America (both pre & post European contact) & remained 'legal tender' into the 19th century. Its value, history, usage, etc. is fascinating. We'll be posting some "Wampum Facts" & 17th-19th century quotes pertaining to Wampum on the board.
: We will be adding "wampumeage" soon.
: Meanwhile; check out The French Trader's goods ...

Elaine,
Thanks for that link. The wampum is beautiful, and I have been curious about how it was collected and made and strung. Great information!
