Jo, thank you for sharing your special memories. It was so quiet on the board for the last few days, I couldn't decide if it was because folks were feeling subdued over this latest tragedy or not, as no one was posting. I'm glad to know that others have been touched as I have.

It's funny how seeing someone "in person" makes you feel as though you have an even more special connection to them, isn't it? I know when President Kennedy was assassinated, I felt almost as though I had lost a personal friend, just from that one smile and wave. He had become *real* in that instant, and then he was gone a mere two days later. A shock for someone my age, as it would have been for you at your tender years.

Someone on the news today mentioned that we are all sad because we've been visiting the land of What Might Have Been for the last few days. An apt description, I think. We have certainly all played a bit of "What If?" lately, I'm sure.
