Here, we agree, but you may find an argument from Gayle, who dearly loves Natty Bumppo. Methinks she posted that line about the Leatherstocking Tales featuring NOTHING compared to "Precaution" partly just to see who would protest, though. "Precaution" may be great for a series, but I know Gayle would never desert Hawkeye, any more than I would.

All jokes about loincloths aside, it's DDL's face that does it for me. Those pentrating looks, and that slow smile win my heart every time. And the slo-motion hair doesn't hurt.

But even without DDL in the part, the Hawkeye of Cooper's imagination is a pretty fair hero in himself...if he'd just shut up once in awhile!! And as for Gayle's comments...don't you believe it! She'd fight me for Hawkeye any day! Right, Gaylee??
