: I did check it out & here are the corrected figures:
: CSA
: 4,637 KIA
: 12, 391 wounded
: 5,846 wounded or missing
: Union
: 3,149 KIA
: 14,503 wounded
: 5,161 missing
Those sound a lot better than mine, which were off the top of my head. Specifially, I got the wounded and missing mixed up. The story of the aftermath of the battle is as facinating as the battle itself. The entire town become one big hospital. There's a book called "Days of Darkness" by William G. Williams that tells the story of the Gettysburg civilians. It's historical fiction; the author used accounts written by the townspeople (many told their stories to newspapers, or kept diaries) and filled in the gaps with fictional, though plausible, events. But all of the people in the book were real.
: That'll teach me to listen to "King Ted" ;-)
People in the "Gettysburg" audience cheered when his character was killed. :)
