I agree whole-heartedly with both you & Susan as to the effect of the field of Gettysburg, particularly the site of Pickett's Charge, on one's soul. Standing where a North Carolina regiment took cannon shot - point blank - so very close to their objective, is an awe-inspiring place! It makes my eyes well up just typing the words here at my computer ...
