: Hello Champ!
: Thanks for the nice words. That musket sounds interesting. 1st, 2nd or 3rd model brown bessie? Who is making it for you? I'm curious. If I were to venture a guess I would say, what? 1st model?

>Siyo Bill ---
I'm looking at either a 1st model or possibly the officers model .65 caliber Bess (by North Star West).
I'm not sure the maker of the 1st model, I'm dealing with a former reenactor buddy, who is a firearms dealer & told me about some museum quality 1st models (says you couldnt tell the difference from originals!). I trust his judgement ;-)
Once I find out I'll let you know.
1st model would be a great choice, since the Loyalists units were not typically issued the latest model, especially early in the Rev' War (our clothing date is 1777).
I have a question about Killdeer I hope you can answer, since your privy to the original plans, what school of riflemaking does Killdeer represent, or is it a little of this--a little of that?
Some of its elements remind me of Dickert (etc), & I was curious
about that.
Again, great looking rifle, hope to add one to my collection one of these days (soon)!
