: : MMMM, I'm with you! Haven't read the US article, but I saw Ms. Stowe on a couple of TV talk shows. She did reveal some personal stuff that made me cringe a little - and she sure enjoyed talking about learning to do castrations on her Texas ranch! Has anyone seen her in the new movie "General's Daughter" and if so how was her acting performance?

: Hi Jayne,

: I saw the movie last weekend and I read the book last year (if you like Nelson Demille - Spencerville is another good read). I read somewhere that John Travolta hand-picked Maddy for the part. I think the casting of both parts was great, but Travolta's South Boston accent (which is where his character is supposed to be from) left a little to be desired but his mocked Southern accent was great! Maddy did a great job with her part and she added a welcome *sauciness* to the role. The book developed the romance between the two far more than the movie did (reminds me of another movie we all know and love - Hint: Uncas/Alice). Maddy seems to be maturing nicely (no nudity, just lots of tight outfits) and I liked the movie , although the book was better. I think John Travolta must have beefed-up for this role - anybody know??? Oh well, beefed-up or not he's still a beef-cake. It's worth a see!

: Hope that helps, for sure I'm no movie critic,

Thanks for the review! I'm glad M. Stowe did a nice job. I do think she is very talented. She mentioned during an interview that she and John T. behave in the movie much like she and her husband do in real life - they argue and fight alot. (Marcia - guess we didn't need to know that either!) Also, I thought he looked heavier when he was on the Tonight Show, but don't know if it was intentional for the movie.
