Raffle Items

Hi, Gatherers! I've been meaning to post my sincere thanks to those of you who contributed so much to our Fund-raising Raffle last weekend. There were so many goodies to be had! Posters, pictures, books, the Harley baby, photo sets, those wonderful magazines, the dreamcatcher, the earrings, and all the wonderful goodies from Scotland (in honor of Colonel "Aye...so?" Munro!) that Kate brought...I wanted every single thing on that table! I don't remember who won the necklace with the entwined hearts on it, but Kate, please post & tell everyone the significance of that, and the lovely celtic ring. I enjoyed hearing about those, in particular.

And you guys who purchased raffle tickets, thank YOU for making it all a success. I'm taking our "seed money" to the bank Monday, and opening an official Mohican bank account. As stated earlier, we will be putting the money where it will do the most good in lowering our costs next year. For those who don't already know this, the bunkhouse will not be available for future Gatherings, sadly. That ol' place has a special spot in my heart, but the Park needs it for other purposes & won't be renting it out much longer. Therefore, a search will be underway for just the right spot for us to gather next year. I am trying to find a place with a variety of rooms/cabins so that there will be a nice selection to choose from.

At least one campground in the area has cabins for 2 and 4, in addition to a central meeting area & tent/rv facilities. That would make it easier for more people to stay in one spot. Those who prefer more private accommodations would be taken care of, and those who want a bunkmate or 2 can have that option, as well. We'll be checking all all facilities in the Chimney Rock area to find the very best spot.

And thanks for all the good suggestions for ways to make the 3rd Gathering even better. I've got a notebook full of ideas already started. I know that with all the folks who have volunteered their services for next year, we can have an even better time, though it's hard to imagine how!

In short, my heartfelt thanks to each and every person who was part of this year's wonderful experience! Can't wait to do it all again!
