Something's Happening Here...What It Is Ain't Exactly Clear!

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm...after making my early morning buzz around Mohicanland on my trusty Purple Paisley Magic Carpet, I'm experiencing some strange vibrations! Something is going on around here! Don't know what yet, but there's a hum that ain't comin' just from the Calm Bee Nation. Miss Marcia was bustlin' about her DownHome Kitchen, cookin' and stirrin' and singin' to herself...pies lined up on her windersill, and possum stewin' in the pot, and things being preserved and prepared and fried, boiled, braised, sliced, riced and diced right and left! Haven't seen the makings of this big a feast since last Thanksgiving!

Flew by Miss Katie O' Arboath's Quilt Shop, and she was stitchin' a mile a minute on a pattern she calls "Inuit Star"...??...Says "the Spirit has moved her!" And lawsy, but Mme. Adrienne is a-moldin' and a-sculptin' and workin' on a teeeeeeeeny-tiny wampum belt for her latest poupee. She was frashin' and frettin' when I flew by, mutterin' to herself about finishing it "in time for the Gathering!" Gathering? What Gathering?

Saw some big, burly sorts out back of Bumppo's Tavern, helpin' unload a HUGE wagon of ale and pickled pigs' feet. Looks like the tavern is preparin' for a crowd, too! And Sherrif Twigg has been runnin' around like a crazy man, deputizin' fellas all over town to help out with what he calls "crowd control!" Now, whaddup wid THAT?

Just when I was ready to fly back home, I spotted Miss PaddleTale waddling frantically down the middle of Main Street towards the Town Square, quacking, "The Maniacs are coming! The Maniacs are coming!!" And hard on her heels was Dweebie Day-Lewis shouting "Circle the wagons & hide the women and children!" (Dweebie never does get ANYTHING right, doncha know!)

I've got me a pot of Earl Grey brewing right this very minute & will be consulting my tea leaves shortly. As soon as I have this all figured out, I'll report back. In the meantime, watch out...Old Crone just bought a new dress and got a permanent, and She-Who-Tracks is tryin' out her false eyelashes again! What it all means, I don't even want to think!!
