Almost since the final moments of this event, there has been a monument on the site to the honor of the fallen soldiers. What of the Indian warriors who died on this very ground defending their homeland?

Several years ago, legislation was passed to construct a momument dedicated to these Sioux & Cheyenne warriors. It will be located in the vicinity of Custer Hill, not too far from the present memorial.
