Happy Mother's Day ... to all you ... Mothers!! (Including, of course, my own little mama, the Mother of our 8 children, Lainey!) We, couldn't have done it without you! Hope the weather in your part of the world is as fine as it is here, right now!
Well, Wes .... an absolutely fantastic interview (we think)! Wes is as personable & interesting as we expected him to be. We about talked him out! By the end, he was begging us to stop! :) Nearly 3 hours of tape to go through & transcribe, so be patient. We believe it'll be worth the wait! And, we planted the seeds for a Michael Mann interview while we were at it. Keep all your appendages crossed for that one! Thanks to everyone who contributed ideas for questions. We pretty much incorporated them all, in one way or another. One thing ... Wes is in NO such movie as "GI Joe," contrary to rumors. He does have 3 others on the way! Pat, we can't thank you enough for passing our message on to Wes in Tulsa. It sure did pay off!
The Gathering Page is updated a bit, so all you Gatherers, and POTENTIAL Gatherers, may want to re-visit. Remember, too, please remit your moolah for your Chimney Rock Park package to Miss Marcia ASAP. Deadline is, once again, May 25 (which is also the refund deadline!). Why buy a Package??? It's cheaper, number one, than purchasing all the items separately. It's also a whole lot more convenient. You get your admission ticket to CRP, THREE huge meals, & a commemorative souvenir of The '99 Mohican Gathering. So, if you don't buy in, you spend the day figuring out where your next meal is coming from. It's a lot easier to just buy the package (at a savings) and just be able to enjoy your day at the Park & feast with everyone else! Plus, if you are staying at The Bunkhouse, there is NO better deal! OK? So, please get to it THIS WEEK!
We received a nice little present, courtesy of an E-Mail, this week. Our VERY FIRST VIRUS! Not realizing what it was, we inadvertantly passed it on to a few of you. I believe we have fixed it everywhere it went. What it was was this little fireworks display. Harmless, really ... more of a nuisance. It attaches itself to every outgoing E-Mail! You can get rid of it by deleting the "Happy99.exe" file from your E-Mail program's attachment folder. Then, use the Windows "Find File" utility and search for "SKA". Two files will appear: "ska.exe" & "ska.dll". Delete them both. That's it. Thanks to Marie for the fix! Moral? Don't open attachments from folks you don't know. Simply delete them. Had I followed this advice, we wouldn't have passed it on to you guys. Thankfully, I was lazy that morning and so only sent a few!
As for The Eric Schweig Mask Raffle ... the time is now! If you want to participate, please send your checks out soon. Should we be short of the 70 maximum at Gathering time (where the raffle will be held), tickets will be available to you there, in case you have a last minute impulse! However, if you KNOW now that you want to enter, do mail in your entry. We NEED to reach a 30 ticket minimum! All mail entries MUST be postmarked no later than June 1! Best of luck to all who have entered!
OK, enjoy your Mother's Day & ... Happy Trails!
