Elaine,
Your statement is so on target - very nicely put. As you said:
He is, as you point out, a public person & his fans are his clients. People can & will talk about him. That's good. However, it should be remembered that though he is in the public eye, he is still a person. Like every other actor/artist/writer/etc., his privacy does need to be respected. The public can support a person & share their admiration & opinions without offense or crossing the line. There needs to be balance. Every thing in a person's life, no matter who they are, is not automatically fair game. It is the responsibility of everyone to be respectful of others.
: I agree, the situation you describe is not good for an actor's image. It is certainly not in HIS interest for such things to go on. However, it is those who partake in it who are responsible for ending it. It is not Eric Schweig's doing that this has occurred. He has NOTHING to do with what has been happening. Nothing. Please don't hold it against him. He honestly appreciates the support so many have shown him.
Pat says:
Eric Schweig is a talented actor and a talented artist. We appreciate his work. He was incredible in LOTM. We admire and respect him, but let's leave it at that. We can continue to support his efforts as actor and artist through these pages but, I, for one, do not want to hear any more about these silly, childish people who spread stupid gossip and make slanderous statements about people they don't even know. Let's all work together to ignore them and not drag Eric through this mud - he does not deserve it nor do we.
