: : I'll tell you this...that boy was sweating TODAY, for sure!  I lied about it being a week before it hit 85...it was 88 this very afternoon...on the 3rd of APRIL!!  He will have sweated off every feather on his little birdy carcass by August!!  Shall I send you the picture now, or wait till he's lookin' like he ought to be laid out in the poultry section of the supermarket?  

: : BTW, I have ten birds (an Amazon parrot, an African Gray parrot, a green-cheeked conure, and seven budgies) and all of them can take the cold weather much better than the hot, just like their Mohican Mama.  They can stay outside when it goes down into the 30's, but when it gets over 85, they start to suffer.  I've been trying to teach Toby to say, "I'm a good little Mohican," but she's being stubborn.  She DOES, however, whistle the opening notes of the theme...when she's in the mood, that is! ;o)
