off the top of my head I can recall three such scenes; when Hawkeye rushes to save Cora as the Huron warrior is preparing to kill her, when Uncas embraces Alice in the cave behind the falls, and when Chingachgook sees the death of Uncas [are there others anyone? I cant recall just now]...
These, one would guess, were done for cinematic effect of the paticular scene[s]. I think they work nicely.
How many of you notice the hurky-jerky, frenzied pace of the assualt on the King George road?
I know some folks who critized it, again, I think it works well in accenting the sudden, brutal, and frightening aspect of such an unexpected attack...
