Hi People!
Sorry to take so long in replying to the 'Great Debate' - Best Acting Awards! I had to go to Glasgow for a few days. And what do I find when I get back? The minute my back is turned, there appears some dissention in the ranks! Not to mention Controversy, that's what!
Now, Miss Marcia, you know I'm a cat person - my 'boys' will testify that I'm a darned good 'mother'! And yes, I did consider that cougar, as sure as God made little green apples! As you say, it's acting ability was phenomenal - that hiss and spit at Cora was certainly good, I can't dispute that! But I very promply threw its nomination out! It reminded me too much of too many men I know, first thing in the morning!! Picture it - 'Coffee, dear?' Snarl! Where the heck's my paper! Hiss! The toast is burnt! Spit! What did *you* do with my briefcase'! And I decided, for all the women in the world - not today pal!!
As for the packhorse - OK, I'm willing to consider him. Reminds me of me somehow! I swear some days my family see me as a 'packhorse'! However, it would not be professional to let personal feelings influence my choice of winners! Therefore, I pronounce judgement - he can be lumped in with the George Road lot! He certainly warrants that!
As for Monroe's horse - I agree - he deserves a medal! He let down Monroe as Monroe let down Hawkeye, Uncas, Jack et al. - he gets my vote for the LOTM medal for services rendered to his country and to the American people!! Ta! Ta! AND he gets the clasp for his 'off the set' incident!! How's that?!!
However, I am having trouble with the nomination for the 'hound'. You hardly saw him and he didn't actually say anything, so, sorry I can't award him a 'placing'.
Well, you know what they say in all the best Award Ceremonies - there can only be one winner. And I'm sorry, friends, but it's got to go to the Stuffed Elk, with horses and dogs as runners up! BUT, we'll be magnanimous! We'll consider the Cougar and Hound for 'Highly Commended's'. How's abaht that then?! Everyone's a winner!!
And I hope the 'human' cast of LOTM have read and appreciated the critique and its replies! Perhaps it will spur them on to try harder! They'll really have to go some though to beat our 'winners', yeah?!!
