Well, I admire MMMMarcia for standing up for her favorite movie.
And believe me, when Doctor Mary runs out of her favorite
anesthetic, which is usually the cheap rotgut they peddle at
the disreputable Bumppo's, she finds a quick viewing of The
English Patient puts 'em out like a light! Please don't hurt
me, MMM...just kidding! Nyuk! Nyuk! Nyuk! In case you're
wondering, while LOTM is certainly one of Doctor M's personal
favorites for oh so many twisted reasons, one of her other
most-treasured and often shamefully-overlooked cinematic
treasures is The Egyptian, starring the amazingly wooden Edmund
Purdom. This brilliant epic contains the immortal line, "You
have bold eyes for the son of a cheesemaker!" I tell you, they
just don't make 'em like that any more.
