Rich,
That was fun! I love a good discussion. I think we essentially agree, but a little give and take on the fine points is stimulating and allows us to elucidate.
You know, one of the really neat things about genealogy (for me anyway) is that I have found ancestors of many different backgrounds, countries and religions. That is surely one of the reasons I am not prejudiced against any group and value diversity as well as individuality. Studying genealogy and history together makes me feel like I understand those who are long since gone better than I might have. It is a never ending battle to keep those revisionists from judging the past by holding it up to the present, isn't it?
. : Pat, are you going to wear your coonskin cap to The Gathering???? And, have you ever seen the film on Sam Houston starring Sam Elliott?
I don't have a coonskin cap, but I might find a feather around here somewhere. I haven't seen the movie? What was your take on it?
Now, I am going to go to your site you recommended.
Champ:
Sounds like you have as much fun with genealogy as I do.
