: Greetings,
: While all you other Traders, Would Be Traders, Traitors, & Ghoul Trackers have been busily turning upon one another & engaging in backstabbing dealings I have outdone you! Through patience, courtesy, & *gasp* fair trade I have struck a deal with the English Trader. Not only have I received a previous post of His Majesty's Tea from the English Trader's mother country, I now have in my possession two exquisite Cooperisms!
: 'Tis true! The English Trader has delivered the goods ...
: An 1859 edition of Wish-Ton-Wish & an 1860 edition of Satanstoe by the same publisher (W. A. Townshend & Co.) with lithographs by
: iillustrator F. O. C. Darley. They are a matched set with the same brown cover and gold foil emblem of shield, swords, musket, powerderhorn, spear, & bow and arrow! They're beautiful! Both were published within a decade of Mr. JFC's passing (1851) ... and they're MINE!
: So ... though in the Trading business it is true that crime does pay, it also wise to occasionally deal fairly & honestly. One never knows what one might stumble upon.
: DT, CT, FT, & TT ..... ha ha!!!
: Sincerely & Boastfully Yours,
: E Lane
Most Graceous and Courteous E. Lane,
Let me say it is truly an honour to do business with you, fair E.Lane. I am pleased that you are pleased. I must say, in all honest (being, as I have said before, an open and sinceren creature) that the gift of tea was in part to to assist in the worthy objective to Make the World England. For does not the mere wiff of a good tea calm the savage breast and create an atmosphere of civilization? Books, too, one must say, are a thing of beauty and a joy to behold, and a true gift of civilization. Especially those Cooperisms!
Meanwhile, the remaining "part" of the gift of the tea was in gratitude to you and yours in exchange for certain information which has enabled me to make a most adventageous purchase of mine own.
Presidentress P-S-P-E:
We must convene a Delegation to count our Cooperism assets forthwith, within a sennight if possible, as I too have a growing collection available FOR TRADE (hint hint, lurking Cooper-philes).
Again, E.Lane, I thank you for the opportunity to do trade.
Yours with respect and devotion,
English Trader
