Well, this should be interesting! Thanks for the update. What will happen to the archives?
Nice shot of Eric enjoying the falls.
Happy Mother's day to all out there!

: Ah, the winds of change ... seems, in life, one just can't avoid them.
: I'll get to the point: We're moving the Web Site to a new ISP.
: Why?!? Because it's much more affordable, is the primary reason.
: But, the letter?
: There was no letter!
: Oh, sorry ... so, you want to know what that means, right? Ok, ok, I'll tell you what it means ... here it goes ...
: In point of fact, to the average visitor, it means nothing. The site will still look the same, feel the same, BE the same ... just on a different server. The move is supposed to be seamless & unnoticeable to the visitor.
: But, YOU'RE not the average visitor ... you are the folks who've gotten involved with this place over the years. And for you, I'm afraid, the move will be VERY noticeable. You see there are issues ... Unix to Windows N/T ... cgi to asp ... technical stuff like that. Basically, we're moving to a new environment; a place where things are done differently. When in Rome, do as the Romans do ... these guys know asp, so why keep our old cgi? Get it? Ha ha! Either do I ...
: I thought long & hard on this, but we have to move, or give it up entirely, so, in the end, it'll be a lot better if we go with the flow.
: Now, in English ... This Board comes down; a new Board will take it's place. It will look & feel & operate MUCH differently ... probably more along the lines of OTHER boards you've seen all over the Internet, but under all that, it'll really be the same place ... just ... different. In addition, all our form mail-type things scattered about ... like our credit card order form, Gathering sign-up e-form, props display bidding form, etc. etc. all will need to be replaced. The old ones just won't work on the new server, which, by the way, is in Ohio, not out in the Wild West. [appropriate in that Ohio has been the biggest buyer of my guide booklet, other than NC & NY].
: So, I've been tediously moving all our stuff over, will notify Internic about the domain transfer tomorrow morn, and by Wednesday or Thursday, Good Lord willing, we'll be in our new, more affordable, digs. To you, it'll seem like we're in the very same place, as far as addresses go - still www.mohicanpress.com - EXCEPT for the fact that I'm not sure WHERE we'll stand with all the interactive stuff at that early juncture ... the Board ... or, rather, A Board, may or may not be functioning - I certainly hope that it will, and will do all I can to have it so, but it may not happen in as timely a fashion as I'd like. There WILL be a Mohican Board, though, and clicking on your current bookmark WILL take you to our site where, upon completion, you will be able to transfer to the new Board ... Right now, it's already installed, so maybe ...
: What's this move mean to US? No more virtual server, which means absolutely nothing to you, the visitor, and just a bit more to us, the web masters. It limits, to a degree, our ability to manage, but we'll gain in other areas, not the least of which is money! We'll also have more space. Yes, our new home is even more spacious!
: Everything will be fine ... However, though exciting in some respects, it's also sad. I LOVE my WWWBoard. Though certainly not the most sophisticated apparatus out there, it's been my home for 5 years ... and is oh so customizable!!!! We could make it look pretty much just how we wanted it to. No, sterile looking environment. Aw, shucks ...
: So, that's that ... this Board, in this form, ought to be here for the next 48-72 hours, and then ... poof ... it won't ... not in this permutation, anyway ...
: See you on the other side!
: There, I was as cold & blunt as I could possibly be ... but, inside, there are tears, believe me!
