I watched most of it, and at the end, I was really struck by the kids when they got back home. As much as they *complained* while living on the frontier, they didn't seem much happier back home. The kids from Malibu seemed rather bored being back home with all of their luxuries. I wish I could remember some of the things they said---I think they gained some perspective and appreciation about the 1880's and 21st century lifestyles.
