Hawkeye vs. Uncas or Chingachgook

Why is it that Hawkeye's name is sort of Englishized, whereas Uncas or Chingachgook obviously have names in their native language?? Is Hawkeye the name English speaking people gave Nathaniel, or is it maybe his Delaware name converted into English?
