Hello Reenactor Leaders --

Thank you for your participation in our grand undertaking.

Attached is the original flyer for the May 4 shoot plus directions on how to get there. We will need to start at 9:00 a.m. The shot list is extensive and sticking to the schedule will be imperative. So I will be counting on you all to keep your units focused on the objective, which is to produce the best F&I documentaries that could ever hope to be made. WFRR was a start, and I know this show will top it.

We will be using the Nichol Farm area of Raccoon Creek State Park. Our base will be a period barn with picnic tables, and from there we will range about a quarter mile across a field to a wooded area where we will stage Grant's Defeat, and the French and Indians will then move on to a period lean-to for some camp shooting. Near the barn we will stage Washington's friendly fire incident, and also near the barn are two wigwams for some Indian village shots. In the open fields of Nichol Farm, we can stage opposing fire in ranks to simulate the Ft. Ligonier encounter. We also hope to get lots of marching and moving through the forest.

We will be running three cameras for coverage of the battles. This should minimize the need for running through scenes multiple-multiple times.

Let's not forget that we will need to:
* Show some emotion in the battle scenes. We will need fear, and anger, and the feeling that your next breath might be your last.
* Use ramrods once in a while for authenticity.
* Have guys "die" realistically.
* Stage 3/4 speed hand-to-hand combat (I will ask for volunteers; usually the younger guys like this sort of thing). We will have an FX guy on hand for some blood work, but since this is a project that will end up in schools, as with WFRR the gore will be understated rather than blatant.

Lunch will not be spectacular--sandwiches and soda pop. We will also have plenty of water on hand. There is one portajohn by the barn.

You can also refer your guys to the Paladin Web site, www.paladincom.com, for the flyer and directions. If possible we will post additional information soon.

My most sincere thanks to Ed Gaudelli for taking the point on this. I think it's going to be a memorable day, with results we can all be proud of.

Thanks again,
Robert Matzen
