Found myself staring at my computer screen the other day ... Our LOTM locations screen saver was running and I became engrossed in watching the full-screen images rotate on the monitor. They really are quite something, filling a 17" monitor! And, a lot of good memories are associated with each one ... I can remember being at each location taking that particular shot during my locations search way back in '93. Most of the locations have been visited during the Mohican Gatherings, in '98, '99, '00, & '01, so, there's a slew of good memories tied in to most of those, as well. I could see many of your smiling faces in some of those photos [no, I'm not on any hallucinogenic drugs!]. All in all, a very pleasant experience, it was! You can download a copy, for your computer, from the link right here on this board, if you'd like. And, think of how lucky you are to have the ability to actually see the beauty in them!
A little stat session: Overall site visitation for January & February was up from the same period last year, and March, too, is on-track to surpass last year! Quite amazing, to me. Board visitation, though, is obviously down. Folks who become engrossed in the place tend to fall into several categories:
- Some fully explore the script section, page by page, right through the entire script. That is probably the most common, in-depth visitor.
- Others get engrossed in the history, most commonly within the Fort William Henry segments.
- Then, there are the photo seekers - looking through all the photo galleries. Speaking of, there's a fellow in town who quite a while ago promised to donate some pics to the site that he had from his extra days. Couldn't find them, though. Out of nowhere, the other day, he showed up at the PO with these extraordinary panoramic shots. As soon as he scans them & puts them on a disk for me, I'll have them up.
- Many seek to follow my on the trail search by using the Companion Guide.
- Of course, many mix 'n match, or just breeze in quickly to a couple of pages ... the Eric Schweig Gallery remains a high ranking favorite.
- Oh, and quite a few get lost within the Gathering pages ... seems to be an appeal about them.
Anyway, there's lots of new and/or updated stuff around the web site for your perusal - including, Gathering Updates, the LOTM Props Display bidding, a page devoted to Ariel, the On-Line version of the Companion Guide, WTC pics taken by my cousin, refreshed bookstore, new page of screen captures, Bushy Run, and more ...
Just click on the What's New link to explore the updates ...
And, please, consider a Gathering pledge for Ariel!
