: Hey Mohicanlanders!!
: Caught the DVD version FX aired this weekend. This is the first time I've seen this and I think the jury is still out. I liked all the "added" stuff, especially the fort scenes and I didn't like having any of the stuff deleted from the theatrical release. I liked having the theme music playing while the heroes were running up the rock to the rescue as opposed to Clannad...not that I didn't like that song, it just seemed to be more effective with the theme music. So, in the event we could make a new release, I say we leave in all the old and new stuff and change the background music to the rescue run. Okay...that's my two cents worth. :)

Hello, Theresa,
I acutally read this post several days ago & have been intending to respond ever since I read it. I share your feelings & agree with everything you said 100%. I own both the VHS & DVD versions of the film & while I was impressed with the visual sharpness of the DVD version, I was disappointed to discover some of my favorite lines from the film were no longer there! Apparently, in this case, "director's expanded cut" meant some new additional footage, which was nice, but it also meant that the director had "cut" other things out of the film!
Wouldn't it be nice if, as you said, there could be one more DVD release made & this time, as you said, "leave in all the old and new stuff and change the background music to the rescue run."
Michael Mann, are you listening???
