Dear Florida Grandmom -
I'm so sorry I didn't answer your email -- I've switched PCs and am having a lot of proplems getting email.
I want to say thanks so much for your comments about the music. I still listen to the CD very regularly, I find it so moving. And since writing the Musical Musings, I still find myself focusing on innuendos in the music that I fear I may have missed before, or decribing the music to myself in new ways, rather than paying attention to the movie!!! And since beginning reenacting two years ago, I stare at the clothing instead of the acting :>))
If you don't have the NEW CD, I encourage you to get it (you can order it from this site). It is very well done, and includes a section of music that is in the movie but not the movie soundtrack (and I need to add that to the Musical Musings)!!
Finally, I hope you will post more often, and be a part of the LOTM family on this board!!
Warm regards,
Sarah Melcher
Musical Mohican Musings Author
: I sent an email to you on Dec. 13th but it never appeared so I'll repeat it. I read "A Personal Note from the Musical Mohican Musings Author" and wanted to let you know that I had the exact same experience you described on discovering LOTM. I have been watching LOTM 1 and 2 times daily. (I'm starting to taper off). I have acquired the standard VHS and the THX widescreen version in addition to the soundtrack on cassette and CD. As a child I was fascinated by Indians and wanted to be one when I grew up. This film has reawakened my interest in the American Indians. I have also watched the major movies made by DDL and feel that LOTM is his best so far. What a hunk! Thank you for this wonderful Mohican Press site. I visit just about every day to see what is new. Does anyone know where DDL is living now - Ireland or the USA?
