I lost my Dad when I was 17. I know the pain very well. I've lived with it most of my life. Here's a note received from Jo late last night. I am taking the liberty of posting it here. Forgive me if that's the wrong thing to do. I think Jo, if she's not already contacted you, would want you to know ...

Finally, a few minutes to spare, and to tell you our mom died late Saturday
night, at home, with her daughters, oldest granddaughter (who is an RN)and
her honorary "son" who flew over from Ireland when he was told the news. My
dad couldn't handle it too well and had removed himself from the room and
went off to bed; as it was past 11pm. At 89, his bedtime is way before that.
Anyway, I would like to think my mom was in no pain; I hope she wasn't. I
know she's in a better place now. Her rosary is tomorrow night; her funeral
is Thursday. Maybe by Friday, I'll be able to get some sleep......
Thanks for mentioning it on the board. I wasn't going to; as I don't think
anyone really wants it to be a bulletin board; but it has been nice for all
of the folks who have emailed me. (I wondered how all of these people
knew....and finally I got the time to check the board....)(Good update, by
the way. Thanks.)
Thanks also for the good thoughts and prayers.
More about things later; got three sets of pants to hem...
Jo
