Above: Me, and the tribe, during my version of "In Search Of ..." in 1993. Little did I know, that there'd be an annual shot taken at that very spot - Peregrine's Rest in CRP - every year in June at a Mohican Gathering! Just ask Jo! Man, oh, man ...! [Hard to believe that chubby little fellow, with musket, is now a married man!]
OK ... We've got a nice little ice storm going on here ... and I've got an assignment in Asheville all this week, too ... FUN! [Driving over the eastern continental divide, between Old Fort & Black Mountain in bad weather can be QUITE the experience!] So, it's a good day to drink hot liquids and settle in to watch the last Cowboys game of this NFL Season, but before I do that, a couple of things:
First off, in conjunction with the above pic, you might like to read about that search ... if so, I finally finished uploading the On-Line Companion Guide supplement (to "On The Trail ..."), so, if it's yukky where you are, too, browse over to: http://www.mohicanpress.com/companion_guide_covers.html and start from there. If you've got the guide book, all the better!
I spent a lot of time updating the site this past week, so you may find other things of interest, as well.
Chris, that little bug you reported on earlier this week was not quite the "piece of cake" I had thought it to be. I had it partially fixed, but not all the way ... that script is heard to read! But, it's all good now.
Regarding the Fifth Annual Great Mohican Gathering ... I sent out a mailing earlier to those of you on the mailing list, but to everyone else, I wanted to say that we have a nice compliment of volunteers this year, some veteran, some new, and all slots have been filled except for someone to organize the third Ariel's Auction. It's time now, will all duties pretty much assigned, to really get down to the nitty-gritty and get things moving along to a, hopefully, 2/1/02 opening of a reservation period. Enthusiasm NEEDED ... lots of it ... if we;re to meet THAT "deadline"!
Reading over Eric's post, it makes me wonder ... If a nation as diverse as this one is - that is, the USA - with all the deep divisions and self-interests, can mend fences and join together (no, I'm not delusional enough to think that it'll actually LAST), why can't the same be done here in Mohicanland? Thanks for passing that on, Eric.
Sounds like Sharon & Eric are on to something for the 5th Annual T-Shirt, by the way!
So, anyway ...
