My Dear Towne Crier!! It is has been much much too long since we have heard of you and far longer since we have seen you. Tell me, have you news of my old compatriot, the Turkish Trader? I miss that one.

Well, I am here to be counted. Also, I have news of Pvt. Chauncey in winter quarters at Fort Edward, on Rogers' Island, where it is cold and wet. THe Rangers are amongst the few who remain, while all the Regulars warm their hides further south in great comfort. I was well glad to be away from there but pitied leaving poor young Chauncey.

A woman by name of Sarah M. was also met upon my travels of late, and is well. She laments the affect of the recent war upon the area of New Amsterdam, now New York City, the effects of which she has seen and felt personally.
