Seeing as how some of you have ventured into these parts to enjoy the scenery and absolutely stunning fall colors [and weather!], you might be enticed by this from the Dupont Forest web site:
"First ever Open House scheduled for October 27, 28
Friends of DuPont Forest is sponsoring an open house to raise funds to install a roof for the Visitor's Center at the Buck Forest entrance of the forest. On the last Saturday and Sunday in October, the public is invited for a guided van tour of the Forest's spectacular waterfalls and Lake Julia. Hot cider and refreshments will be available at the unfinished Visitor's Center. Shuttles will travel from Buck Forest and Hooker Falls parking areas to Triple Falls, High Falls, Lake Julia, and Bridal Veil Falls, approximately every 30 minutes. A $10 donation ($5 for children 12 and under) is requested for the shuttle rides. Open House hours will be 10am to 4pm.
Celebrate the beautiful fall season by joining other Friends of DuPont for this unique event."
Enjoy it, if you can!!!! One of the most beautiful of all "Mohicans" locations!
