: It was undeniably true. We had, after a, maybe necessary, but seemingly interminable wait, exacted some measure of ... am I allowed to say it? ... REVENGE ... on the perpetrators, & harborers of, the September 11 massacre(s).

: Never, in my wildest dreams, could I imagine feeling delight - not the right word, I'm sure - over military action. But I was feeling overcome with emotion as I sat and listened to reports of heavy bombings, cruise missiles, an impending Northern Alliance offensive. The reports mentioned airfields, anti-aircraft guns, terror bases, Taliban buildings, and more as the targets. Then President Bush confirmed it all at about 1PM.

: As my 2 year old daughter snuggled up against me, I listened ... I absorbed ... I cried. Finally, nearly 4 weeks of pent up feelings - which had begun, as well, with crying - had found a release. I cried in joy, almost. We had answered. Our brave forces were laying their lives on the line for the defense of the freedoms we all enjoy daily. Yes, I cried for that. And for the beginning of the lending of some sort of meaning & sense to the 6000 or more deaths on September 11. But as I hugged Isabella, I realized why I was really crying. This was happening so that she, 20 years from now, won't have to live through what we have. So that she can live her life without fear.

: "After reading the article in today's [Friday's] 'USA Today' concerning the US plight to find Osama bin Laden - all but impossible, according to a bin Laden Pakistani confidante - I'd like to make a suggestion. Use the tactics General George Crook used to find the Apache, Geronimo, in the late 1800's; use an Apache to find an Apache ... Or, in this case, an Afghan to find an 'Afghan.' To under utilize the Northern Alliance, and Taliban defectors, would be a grave mistake."
