Also, someone from the DD-L Bulletin Board had recently visited Fort William Henry and was looking for more information about it. I directed her to the Table of Contents of the Mohican Site. She writes back saying how she appreciated it and was so excited about finding it. So, there are new people all the time coming here. Yeah!

: : Jeez, it sure doesn't seem it, based on the interactive part of this Site, but visitation has been steadily climbing overall. As might be expected, visitation took a major dip on Sept. 11, but since then it has rebounded nicely and web stats look just about the same as this time last year. A bit better actually ... In the 29 days of September, thus far tracked, we've had 39, 208 unique visits. Not bad.
: : It's been hard, for me personally, to focus on "The Last of the Mohicans," and related things, these past 18 days ... with the terrorist attacks and other matters distracting me tremendously. Certainly, that's not unique to me!
: : So ...
: : Nothing new on a 2002 Gathering to report. {though the mailing list continues to grow ... up to 56 addresses now, representing well over 100 people, most of whom have been there before!)
: : No further progress on the "On the Trail ... Companion Guide."
: : Haven't yet gotten to burning Site CDs.
: : Around the Site, though, I have managed a few updates ... of course our News & Notes page is updated; thanks to Tim Cordell we have a new Fort William Henry Update to report (see link below); put up a 9-11-01 page, culled from this Board, mostly, but including photos (see: http://www.mohicanpress.com/sept_11_2001.html), and ran a bunch of Amazon.com links throughout the web pages to enable it to be easier to find things you'd like to purchase WHILE browsing. As an example, on the Eric Schweig interview pages, there's an ever-refreshing selection of his films. On the James Fenimore Cooper pages, listings of his works. Stuff like that.
: : I may be up in NY, if I can possibly arrange it, next weekend for my Class of 1970 30th Reunion (combined with the class of '71). Don't know. But, if I am, I will be silent [here!] next weekend.
: : Promise to get to some of the other stuff soon ... including updating the Mohican Gathering page, adding to the Online Companion Guide, etc. More new stuff, as I mentioned several weeks ago, soon to be arriving and will have that up as it comes in.
: : Hope all are safe & well ...
: Sorry to be so late in noting that...I JUST LOVE Tim Cordell and the "From the Ramparts" stuff. The information about the Seven Year's War cemetary was very interesting. Maybe I'll get there some day! It once again just brings to the forefront, with current trials of the spirit in my mind, how our history really defines who we are today!
: Thanks,
: Di
