Hi Chris.

I'm not sure of this, but I believe the warclub in the picture is the one owned by Randall King. He states that it is one of the two "real" ones made of wood and steel (the implication being, to me at least, that there were other--perhaps "rubbery" versions).

As to what type of wood, I don't know.

However, I believe Mr. King would. I contacted him recently for help with my ill-fated "Magua's Telescoping Tomahawk" thread further down on this board (9/2/01). He very generously and promptly replied. I am fairly certain he would be willing to supply you with info for your project. You can obtain his email address from his replies on that thread.

I am putting a link below to an old thread on the NetSword bulletin board which I think might be of interest to you. It touches on both the movie version and the original type. (I am 'Sikandur' there, BTW.)

The "Weaponsmaking Simplified" forum at NetSword might also be a resource for you in the actual construction of your project.
