: Just wanted to say hi to everyone. Rich, I read your posting from a few days ago stating that you were glued to the tv when not working. I understand that we have all been that way, and I understand that you have a personal connection with the tragedy since you know people there and have lived there. However, please allow me to pass on a bit of advice I heard on the radio this weekend. It was from a psychologist advising people how to deal with the grief and the shock. She suggested turning off the tv. She said, you've seen it, you know what happened, there is no need to watch it over and over for hours on end. Rich, it will get into your soul and saturate it. The psychologist suggested turning off the tv and doing something productive, like straighten the house or work in the yard. Something that will make you feel alive and maybe even take your mind off of it.
: I am not trivializing or downplaying what happened, but if America freezes and becomes so wrapped up in it, then those villians have done what they wanted to do: terrorize us. DOn't let them win. Be the beautiful, loving people you are in spite of everything. No, none of us will ever be the same, but we are still alive and must go on with the business of living..... sorry this was so long....
: Love,
: Stephanie
With all due respect to the psychologist in question, different people deal with these things in different ways.
And the fact is, it's not all repitition. It's an ongoing story.
I thank God for CNN at times like this.
And I thank our forefathers for fighting for the right to freedom of the press/media.
And I thank those who go out and get the story, sometimes putting themselves at considerable personal risk to do so.
