: Claude and I have decided to venture down highway 231 to visit Fort Toulouse today.  There is a French Colonial Militia encampment this weekend.  In talking with one of my neighbors Thursday evening, I discover the she and her husband participate in a living history at the Fort.  Their personas are French from the French and Indian War period.  WHAT!!  I had no idea.  Just goes to show you that we don't get out and visit like we should.  They built an out building behind their house to store all of their stuff.  They are really into this big time and I had no idea!  Anyway, I shared with her our experience of the Gathering and she told me that her son (19) always watches LOTM prior to one of their outings.  Their daughter (16) is also involved.  I do plan to visit with her and share my pictures and stories from the summer. BTW, she was out gathering muscadines for her husband to make wine.  They take their wine, which they have bottles stored from since 1989, to these encampments as their offering to the "cause".  We had this trip planned and decided to go ahead with it.  It's about an hour's drive from here.  I will wear my t-shirt from the Gathering with my red, white, and blue ribbon attached.  I will take pictures and let you all know how it went.  I pray nothing on the national front happens, unless it's good news.
