: Well I just don't know where to start.....first of all, I
arrived back safely at about 8am today (3am Mohicanland time!) after waving the Dutch Trader off towards her connecting flight.
: Aaaahh, so many memories which despite my fatigue I am absolutely FORCED to share.....
: * It was such a delight to meet former gatherers who missed last year. In particular I have to say that Emily and Kevin, you have made a lasting impression - and Emily, we WILL know how to spot poison ivy/oak next time we are out in the woods, since our solution to the outdoor restroom situation just wasn't really an option....
: * Newbies.....WOW! Steve, Patrick, Christina, Cyndie, Cassidy and so many more.....Jill and Ellen - you too are the bees knees (as we say on this side of the pond), bumping into you guys at the back door of our Asheville hotel was spooky!! But wonderful!!
: * Bill, it was worth the trip just to have you say that my driving didn't scare you at all, whilst gripping the dashboard....my biggest hugs to you...
: * Eric and Sharon....will you adopt me??!! And Eric, next time you are about to haul me up a big rock....I will take a really good look around to make sure that there isn't a perfectly simple trail running alongside it.....
: * Marcia and Kate - my former cabin mates - so WONDERFUL to see you both again!
: * Clabert, I can't tell you how glad I was that you were able to make the gathering this year - it just wouldn't have been the same without you. And now that I have the approval from your beautiful daughter I send you a big bear hug! Cyndie and Cassidy, it was terrific to finally meet you both - hugs and kisses to you both.
: * Ann...if I ever need something organising I will fly you over to London - you are a superstar!
: * Diana and Cecilia....I missed riding with you guys this year but I would not have missed seeing you heading home on horseback for any money!
: * Sweetsers....as usual, our comic relief! I wish that everyone had heard the one Sweetser (who shall remain nameless!) who on return from visiting the restroom in the middle of the movie said...."so, what did I miss?". Special hugs to Jo for all your help.
: * Dutch Trader Ilse, thank you for being such a great travelling companion, co-driver and all around good sport. Thank you for helping me fulfil my ambition of making it from the Pavilion to the top of Chimney Rock and back down again on foot - keep taking the food and fluids and remember......happy thoughts!
: * Rich and Elaine....what can I say? Well, I could start with a slap for Rich for posting that pic (and you know the one I mean!), and actually, you could get a second slap for driving up a one way street the wrong way when you KNEW that I was following you! But I would have to follow it up with a hug for your tireless efforts and endless patience. Elaine, it was a pleasure to finally spend time with you in person, I can't tell you how much I enjoyed seeing you 'being a girl'!! Thank you for your wit and warmth and everything that you do - hugs to you my friend.
: * And finally, to those who weren't there, whose presence I missed so much, especially my dear friend Dana and the lovely BettyGnome...I was thinking of you guys.
