I would go easy on the Gnome, if I were you. He gets mighty testy when people spit on his tracks. Perhaps ye have misunderstood his eatin' habits, due to a unsure sense o' his meanin'. I do believe he was eatin' those things called Oriole Cookies - ye know, the ones that come in a little circus package and look like birds and lions and things. The Mohican Bountyess supplies them to the small people o' the colony at outrageous prices, along with her pre-packaged travel foods for long hunting trips and sieges at the fort.

Better apologize to The Gnome, or he will start kickin' dust at ye, and ruin yer silk dressin' gown and yer fine French face powder.
